Lester M. Gee

Founder & Funeral Director

Lester Gee is a first generation Embalmer and Funeral Director. He is also the company founder of the Lester Gee Funeral Home in both New London and Bridgeport, CT.

Lester, who was named after his late Grandfather, is a transplant from Virginia and the second oldest of 7 siblings. As a little boy he had an undeniable calling into the funeral service industry. With values instilled in him by his late mother Annie Gee, he was shaped into a man of faith, family, honor and perseverance.

In 1956, Lester joined the United States Army where he served until 1959. After his enlistment was finished, he attended McAllister School of Embalming in Manhattan, NY and graduated in 1963. He served his apprenticeship in Bridgeport and was licensed in 1965.

In 1971, Lester opened the doors to his first funeral home in New London, CT then his second in Bridgeport, CT in 1992. Through the years he has been an active member of local and regional foundations and organizations such as the Elks, the Masons, and the NAACP. Although he is a longtime member of the Shiloh Baptist Church, he is also a strong supporter and contributor to many local churches in both the New London and Bridgeport areas.

Lester is a loving husband, father and grandfather, who has been serving the community and its families during their time of need for nearly 50 years. He is incredibly grateful that he has been placed into a position to offer his services to those who need them

Chris Gee

Chris joined the Lester Gee Funeral Home in 2009 and currently works as the Head Funeral Director in Bridgeport, CT. He is a 13 year Veteran of the United States Army and the nephew of Lester Gee. He is also a resident of Bridgeport CT.

After returning home from his duties with the United States Army, Chris discovered through his Uncle (Lester Gee) a desire to continue his efforts to help others in their time of need and become involved in the family business. Chris then attended and graduated Cum Laude from Lincoln College of New England in 2011, where he received his degree in Applied Sciences with a focus on Mortuary Science. Chris obtained his Funeral Directors License in 2012 after he completed his apprenticeship.

Once on a mission to serve his country, Chris now serves his community with love and compassion during their time of bereavement.
